Director of Tax Overview of PositionThe Director of Tax would support preparing the income tax provision for financial reporting purposes, including quarterly and annual reporting. This role is also responsible with coordinating with outside service providers to ensure timely filing of income tax returns. The Director of Tax would also be expected to develop and implement new processes to support the efficient preparation of the tax provision, the creation of new controls for Sarbanes Oxley reporting purposes and the development of approaches to effectively forecast future anticipated effective tax rates, taking into account the combination of the Legacy Change Healthcare and McKesson Technology Solutions businesses, known future changes in the organization structure and preparing Change Healthcare for a potential future mergers and acquisition.As part of this role, the Director of Tax would manage multiple individuals supporting them as part of the tax provision team at Change Healthcare, including their development.The candidate would be required to develop relationships with leaders from various business units and functions within Change Healthcare in order to understand both current and proposed activities to ensure they are accurately reporting the tax effects of business initiatives in the financial statements.The candidate should be self motivated and personable with an ability to easily develop and maintain relationships both within the organization and with outside advisors. They should be able to work independently with a team located in a separate location than other Change Healthcare tax team What will I be responsible for in this job?Directs preparation of tax provision for financial statement reporting purposes.

Directs tax compliance team to ensure efficient transition from financial statement reporting to tax return preparation.

Work closely with tax planning team and prepare research and computational analysis of tax reporting around both domestic, state, and international tax planning initiatives.

Analyze, document, and communicate issues around valuation allowances, FIN48 reserves, permanent reinvestment for APB23 purposes, and other tax provision matters.

Work with FP&A to help develop forecasts of future effective tax rates.

Work with finance team to understand book reporting of business initiatives and ensure appropriate tax treatment.

Mentors and leads tax department members and teams with other department leaders to maximize employee engagement and provide opportunities for growth.

Trains and Develops tax department members through coaching and supervision

What are the requirements needed for this position?Successful track record of working in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment that is results oriented and collaborative.

Willingness to “roll up the sleeves” to manage priorities.

Leadership/management experience.

Conversant in complex legal, tax, accounting and operating structures.

Proven ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to executives and other departments.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.

Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Project management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues and projects concurrently.

Strong taxation experience – compliance, research, planning, forecasting, and accounting.

Working knowledge of U.S. state and local taxation and non-U.S. tax concepts.

Minimum of 7 years of corporate tax or public accounting experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or similar major (advanced degree preferred) or JD/LLM.
