About the Opportunity:

OceanaGold’s Haile Gold Mine is seeking a Driller Assistant to join our Drill & Blast team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in mining while working alongside experienced drill operators and supporting safe, efficient drilling operations.

As a Driller Assistant, you will support daily drill operations, collect and maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) data, ensure drills are properly supplied, and help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Onsite training is provided, making this a great opportunity for candidates with relevant experience in mining, construction, farming, equipment operation, or other hands-on environments.

What You’ll Do:Support drillers with daily operations in a safe and efficient manner.Collect QA/QC data for drill patterns, including maps, measurements, and notes.Assist the Drill & Blast Supervisor with shift plans and operational activities.Ensure drills have the necessary supplies and materials to maintain productivity.Track and fill drill water used for dust suppression.Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards across drill, maintenance, laydown, and operational areas.Participate in pre-shift and toolbox safety meetings.Complete required safety assessments, including Stop-Think and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).Follow all site safety requirements, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Report incidents, near misses, hazards, and other safety concerns.Work collaboratively with drill operators, lead drillers, supervisors, contractors, and other members of the Drill & Blast team.
