Electrical Drafter

 Timmons Group is currently seeking an Electrical Drafter to join the Renewables Department of our Electrical Design Group located in our Charlotte, NC office location.  This group focuses on power generation and renewable energy projects around the country including solar farms and battery storage projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Assist with drafting and design tasks for renewable projects, including physical and civil layout drawings, schematics, and wiring diagramsDevelop proficiency in CAD software while adhering to client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance with project expectationsLearn and apply standards, procedures and processes in project executionCollaborate with team members to resolve design challenges and seek guidance from experienced professionalsDemonstrate initiative and attention to detail in assigned tasksSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:Associate’s degree or technical certification in drafting, or equivalent industry experienceIdeal candidates will have two (2) or more years of professional experienceProficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, ideally in an engineering environmentKnowledge of substation electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and/or substation physical/civil drawingsExperience using Autodesk Raster Design and Bentley DescartesProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong mathematical skills and experience working with scaled drawingsDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and accountable for assigned responsibilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future
