The opportunity:The Environmental Engineer is responsible for assisting the Environmental Manager to ensure that environmental compliance is maintained at a large, fully integrated Kraft pulp mill.How you will impact WestRock:· Implement environmental programs including:o Title V air permit programo MACT programs (Boiler MACT, RICE MACT, Subparts S and MM)o Stack testingo Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Monitoring o Toxics Release Inventory (TRI)o Emissions Inventory o Refrigerant Management · Prepare a variety of regulatory reports which require data collection, calculations, accurate recordkeeping, and an adherence to regulatory deadlines. · Supervise operation of the Mill’s gas chromatograph and analyze results used for MACT reporting.· Support Operations and Maintenance in reviewing environmental controls systems.· Provide environmental training to hourly and salaried employees.· Work with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies to obtain and maintain environmental permits. · Maintain required documents in a concise, thorough "audit-ready" manner. · Support WestRock’s Sustainability efforts to meet carbon and water reduction targets and to increase recycling and beneficial reuse. · Assist with other environmental programs as needed.· Participate in the on-call weekend duty rotation.What you need to succeed:

B.S. in Environmental, Chemical, or related Engineering; or Physical or Biological disciplines

At least 3 years of experience in environmental compliance at a manufacturing facility. Pulp and Paper experience is preferred.

Knowledge of air regulations and continuous emission monitoring systems (CEMS) operation.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent planning, organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
