Executive Director Marketing Science & Enterprise Analytics

Job Description

Valassis (a division of Vericast) is seeking an Executive Director, Marketing Science & Enterprise Analytics to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is a unique opportunity to lead a talented team of marketing scientists and analysts to support revenue growth and innovation through development of new analytics solutions. This position will also lead operational and automation support for client analytics projects. This role is best suited for someone with strong leadership skills who enjoys problem solving and working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with Insights & Analytics, Product Management and Sales to identify client analytics needs and key market trends
• Support the Data & Analytics roadmap through ideation and execution of solutions based on strategic priorities for the team and company
• Manage and lead team focused on providing operational and automation support for client analytics and measurement projects
• Lead assessment of new data sources
• Test performance of analytics solutions and iterate quickly as needed
• Lead and facilitate cross-functional and executive updates on new analytics solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a marketing or analytics related field (Required)

Master's Degree (Preferred)-In lieu of the above education requirements, a combination of experience and education will be considered.

10+ years of experience leading analytics teams at advertising agencies, retail media platforms, consumer products companies or media analytics companies would make you the most successful in this role

Ability to manage the big picture combined with strong attention to detail

Exceptional problem solving skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Experience breaking down complex problems into steps that enable rapid test and learn

Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

Experience working with first and 3rd party data sets such as point of sale, ecommerce, loyalty and advertising performance data

Experience working on analytics solutions related to media planning, measurement, new product launches and customer loyalty

Knowledge of data architecture including CDP, ETL and data management

Experience with data visualization software (Tableau, Domo or similar)

Strong media data fluency (understanding of key KPI’s important to marketers and the data required)

Experience with analytics tools like Alteryx/Jupyter/Python (or similar)

A combination of technical expertise and business acumen

High energy, proactive, positive, curious and flexible
