Therefore, we are seeking to hire students who wish to begin their Bosch career with a co-op at the Florence, KY facility. Students will receive valuable training, develop interpersonal skills, and gain increased work responsibilities throughout the program.At the Florence, KY facility, Bosch designs and produces precision automotive steering components and systems sold to vehicle manufacturers worldwide. These include electronic steering racks and various components supporting the assemblies.Positions are open to part-time with full-time semesters before/after.Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities: include but not limited to the following

Develop and design, or improve, existing automotive packaging, while meeting functionality and cost requirements.

Develop cost justifications for new/updated packaging requirements through Total Cost of Ownership analysis and calculationsCommunicate directly with packaging suppliers to request samples, test and procure packaging

Support the LOI team with industry 4.0 projects, such as RFID, collaborative robot, smart cameras, etc.

Support Internal/ external value stream design improvements.

Improve standardize work and milk-runs.

Become familiar with Lean Manufacturing Principles (Bosch Production System)

Communicate with recycling suppliers to help in the “Zero Waste to Landfill” initiative by BOSCH Group.

Troubleshoot and perform problem analysis related to production, products and materials.

Work with other departments (Production, Planning, Quality, etc.) in support of projects and departmental logistics engineering / packaging goals and objectives.

Develop and manage master Plan for Every Part (PFEP).

Design and modify CAD plant layouts based on logistics’ needs.

Any other special projects as assigned.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience:

Qualified candidates will have at least sophomore status and be a Packaging Engineering/Science, Business, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering Majors.

Qualifications/Competency:

Minimum 3.00 overall GPA

Demonstrated leadership and persuasive skills, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Desire to contribute and learn in a team-based environment

The student must be available to work full time, preferably for a 6 month rotation.
