NIC – South Carolina is currently seeking applicants for a Financial Assistant and will sit in our Columbia, SC location. Duties:

  • Assist Finance Manager with daily, monthly, and yearly finance tasks.
    • Data entry related to lockbox and month-end processes
    • Collections research and follow-up
    • Purchase Orders and Accounts Payable
    • Manage refund requests
  • Problem resolution, responds to inquiries and makes adjustments as necessary
    • Respond to, organize and follow-up with customer & partner support email and calls related to finance
    • Payment processing support for end user customers and state and local government partners
    • Research charge inquiries and provide explanations to customers and partners
    • Assist Service Desk with support call and incident response during critical processing periods, on an as needed basis
    • Develop training and support materials for applications with payment as needed
  • Payment processing support for end user customers and state and local government partners

  • Process and manage all payment disputes – work with customers and financial institutions towards resolution
  • Initial set-up of subscription services: manage documentation and correspondence
  • Work within framework of strategic company business plan

  • Assist with responsibilities of Administrative Assistant (i.e. invoices and payments, collections)
  • Coordination of documentation related to payment accounts and transactions
  • Cost and Budget Analysis
  • Data entry for statistical reporting and analysis
  • Special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Efficient and Accurate data entry, 10-key
  • Undergraduate degree in business or equivalent work experience in project support role, business analysis or administrative support and client relations

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with strong attention to detail
