The Global Knowledge and Portfolio Management team is responsible for implementing Knowledge Management practices within Traits, Regulatory, and Product Safety (TRPS) and to manage projects and portfolios that impact the TRPS organization.  These include the FTO and Risk Management IT Value Steam, the Biotech Trait Development Portfolio, and the Field Crop Native Trait portfolio.  Within the KPM team, the Portfolio Management team is responsible for ensuring that all tools and processes are in place to allow for operational, functional, project, and portfolio management within the TRPS function and within the in-scope portfolios.  The pipeline modeler will develop, validate, and implement programs, statistical models, forecasting tools, and/or machine-learning algorithms across the Traits Portfolios to continually estimate volumes and resources needed to deliver the portfolio.  The incumbent will work with stakeholder to understand and structure the needed processes and data needed to develop models.

AccountabilitiesFunctional PlanningProvide strategic Knowledge Management leadership within the Planning areaPartner with team leads within TRPS to ensure operational and functional planning processes, cost catalogs, and needed tools are in place for teams within TRPS to effectively plan and track staff and dollar resources, keeping these resource up to date over timeDevelop and maintain reusable training modules to train TRPS staff and other stakeholders on TRPS and Traits portfolio tools and processesProvide subject matter expertise to software development teams, helping to write, groom, test, and sign-off user storiesPartner with operations teams to implement new processes or software/hardware toolsProvide data reporting and visualization services to TRPS teamsMaintain data for functional planning metrics related to data quality and accuracy for continuous improvement Portfolio ModelingDevelop programs to help extract, sample, and validate data for modeling and analysis purposes using a variety of analytical programing tools such as SQL, SAS, Python, etc.Develop data science tools including predictive, optimization, AI, and machine learning models to accurately predict scenario-based outcomes i.e. predicted impacts of advancement decisions to the pipeline, understanding attrition ratesDevelop programs to extract, transform, and manage data in Seeds R&D data ecosystem, in collaboration with the data science, data platforms, and RDIT teamsDevelop processes and programs to evaluate and enhance existing campaign processes including reporting, and deep-dive analyses to develop operational and execution efficienciesParticipate in monthly and quarterly business review processes to report business performance to key stakeholdersCode and test real-time decision engine/flowsPresent results as well as data-driven insights to internal stakeholders in the Traits PortfolioManage projects and communicate status updates to managers and stakeholders
