REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): style="box-sizing: inherit;" The IDMS DBA role has four major attributes: Database deployment and administration leadership, project management skills, people skills, and domain knowledge in enterprise class application development projects. Candidates must display excellence in all areas. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Extensive knowledge of IDMS deployment and operations in a z/OS environment on a z-series IBM mainframe computer. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Extensive knowledge of the IDMS SQL option. Be able to create and support IDMS databases that are deployed using the relational model with SQL syntax. Understand the implementation of SQL access to native IDMS databases. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Knowledge and deployment of IDMS security, including security of ADS/O application structures, IDD and relational database objects. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Understanding of application programming for the IDMS database, both native and SQL, using the COBOL and ADS/O programming languages. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Be familiar with the IBM High Level Assembler on the z/OS operating system. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Be familiar with IDMS Perfmon online monitoring and report generation. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Understanding of IT development and implementation projects. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Project planning experience, including effort estimation on technical tasks and resource allocation. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Strong written and oral communications skills, including the ability to give presentations to project management. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Impeccable integrity. This project will have very high visibility and will impact significant expenditures of public funds. Candidates must be confident with their abilities to make correct decisions and the courage to speak out when necessary. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations on a continuous basis. style="box-sizing: inherit;" style="box-sizing: inherit;" PREFERRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE): style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Hands-on experience with managing IDMS performance and availability 24x7. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Experience with configuring monitoring and alerting for IDMS databases. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • RACF security knowledge. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Hands-on experience with IDMS upgrades and patching. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Knowledge of application change management. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Healthcare industry experience and/or experience managing PHI/PII data style="box-sizing: inherit;" • MS SQL Server knowledge and support experience is a plus, but not required. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • MongoDB knowledge and support experience is a plus, but not required. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Vendor management experience. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) experience style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Medicaid operations experience. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Public sector experience is a plus. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Master’s degree is desirable. style="box-sizing: inherit;"

Notes: Previous experience in health care related information technology, insurance information technology, Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS), Medicaid eligibility, or social services eligibility, while not absolutely necessary, will be helpful.

• This position requires excellent communications skills including effective oral and written communication. style="box-sizing: inherit;" style="box-sizing: inherit;" DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: style="box-sizing: inherit;" The IDMS DBA is responsible for working closely with application development teams, z/OS system support staff and the Database Administrators to provide IDMS DBA support for application and infrastructure databases. style="box-sizing: inherit;" Duties include: style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Hands-on IDMS monitoring and application support in ways that are consistent with IDMS best practices. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Collaboration with database administration team to maintain test, staging, production databases and the development of operations procedures for database management. style="box-sizing: inherit;" • Enable and tune IDMS features to optimize the performance of databases in the context of the mainframe environment.
