CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for an Operations Floor Systems/Network Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the USAF Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This position works at the customer on-site Tier 3 support location at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. This is a shift work position in a work center providing 24x7x365 support.

Shaw AFB is conveniently located. A 2-hour drive to the north gets you to Charlotte, NC, to the east is Myrtle Beach, and Charleston, SC is to the south. You'll have access to big city excitement, a quiet beach walk or small town Southern hospitality, whatever you prefer.

More About the Role:

In this role you will:
  • Serve as the Operations section/shift lead.
  • Provide 24/7 Tier 2 enterprise IT help desk support.
  • Troubleshoot escalated complex systems/network hardware, software, and services problems.
  • Document processes and logic diagrams for regularly accomplished tasks on the NOSC operations floor as well as processes utilized by support technicians.
  • Research and analyze network topology via NOSC automated toolsets and a myriad of networking metrics to ascertain connectivity, topology, and status to recognize sub-standard network performance.
  • Develop reports and trend analysis documentation on bandwidth and network security incidents.
  • Use the Firewall toolset to accurately analyze and report on the overall health of local and deployed firewalls.
  • Perform enterprise-level firewall fault isolation and correction to include troubleshooting ACLs affecting other network traffic.
  • Perform local installation, and local and remote administration of firewalls.
  • Develop and maintain training plans for operations floor positions.
  • Mentor and train operations personnel on new system installations and operating application upgrades.

You will also be required to:
  • Provide oral and written briefs, presentations, and professional reports to Government senior leaders and decision makers.
  • Provide on-call support via cell phone after hours, on weekends and holidays.
  • Develop and review detailed or complex technical documents.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

Required:
  • BS in related field AND 5 or more years' relevant experience; OR 7 or more years' relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start date.
  • Unix, Firewall and HBSS experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Sec or equivalent).
  • Completion of additional Professional Certifications within 6 months of your start date to remain on the program. CACI will cover the cost of these certifications:
  • o VMware Certified Associate (VCA)
  • o MCSE (Server Infrastructure) or current equivalent
  • o CCNA
  • o Unix
  • o Firewall (Linux+)
  • o HBSS
  • o ITIL Foundation

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Experience working in DoD, Air Force, and local base environments
