Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in Columbia, South Carolina. This role is primarily focused on payroll and accounts payable functions within our organization. The chosen candidate will be a part of a dynamic team and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, managing payroll reports, and handling accounts payable.Responsibilities: Oversee the collection and verification of timekeeping data for all employees Handle the calculation and issuance of biweekly paychecks, including overtime, holiday, and vacation pay Ensure accurate reconciliation of payroll reports Proactively address and resolve payroll discrepancies Maintain and update payroll data related to employees, coordinating with HR when necessary Prepare and provide relevant payroll reports to the accounting department for review Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll Respond to and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll issues Manage the setup of approved 1099 contractors, reconcile approved hours, and enter data into the payment system for processing Enter approved monthly commission data for payment processing Oversee the process of entering Accounts Payable invoices, ensuring approval and appropriate account distribution Provide ad hoc analysis for Accounting as requested Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Experience with ADP Workforce Now Knowledge of Ceridian Ability to use Concur Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration Familiarity with About Time Understanding of various Accounting Functions Proficiency in Accrual Accounting Experience in Auditing Skilled in QuickBooks Familiarity with Quickbooks Online Ability to use Gusto Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
