Payroll Clerk

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Payroll Clerk in the construction/contractor industry in Spartanburg, South Carolina. As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to payroll processing, tax form preparation, and employee record maintenance. You will also assist in audits related to payroll and provide support for employee payroll inquiries.Responsibilities: Collect and verify timekeeping data for all employees Issue paychecks and facilitate direct deposits Calculate additional pay such as overtime, holiday, and vacation pay Prepare and issue relevant tax forms, such as W-2s and 1099s Reconcile payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies Maintain accurate employee records related to payroll data Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll Provide support for employee inquiries related to payroll issues Use Accounting Software Systems like ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time for payroll processing Perform other accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and auditing Handle benefit functions using relevant software systems. Requirements Proficiency with Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now Familiarity with Ceridian, Dayforce, and About Time software Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP) Ability to perform Auditing tasks Knowledge of Benefit Functions in payroll context Experience in a construction/contractor industry is preferred Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve payroll discrepancies Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
