This position is a 12 hr 2-2-3 schedule. 7am- 7pm.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up, start up, shut down and cycle a variety of injection molding presses and auxiliary equipment to standards.Maintain equipment’s proper operation to include verifying set-up parameters of process as well as condition of machine; periodically checking machine cycle time and yields are met; quality of parts and overall consistency of process.Troubleshoot and solve molding process conditions to ensure quality and prevent non-conformance.Provide input to process specifications, equipment specifications, request for quotations, factory/site acceptance plans, engineering processes, etc.Provides technical consultation and support to New Product Development or Operations, regarding product designs and manufacturing process parameters and specifications.Perform machine adjustments for a variety of engineering grade materials.Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment to maximize utilization.Has authority and responsibility to stop molding process due to quality concerns.Completes necessary paperwork timely and accurately.  Accurately records use of spare parts to guarantee proper inventory is maintained.Train new/current employee in basic machine operations to increase machine knowledge to maximize utilization.Ensures good housekeeping and organization of production floor.Follows all safety guidelines.Recommends cost saving improvements, labor and ergonomic improvements.Ensure comprehensive and complete communication with oncoming shift.Perform minor preventative maintenance on injection moldsAll other duties as assigned by manager.Qualifications:Minimum High School degree or equivalent education or training5 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in plastic injection molding and automated assembly/testing production equipment.5 years related basic problem solving and processing skills in relation to injection molding and automation equipment.Demonstrated ability to resolve maintenance/manufacturing requirements both through management direction and independent process analysisTraining and experience in scientific injection molding process monitoring methodology preferredWorking knowledge of robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and/or electric systems for both relay and solid-state machinery.Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills, excellent visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment, above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability.Physical Requirements Ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activitiesAbility to lift 50 pounds sporadically. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.This job description should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an incumbent in this position.  Incumbents are required to perform other related functions as assigned.
