Our government client is looking for an experienced

Project Manager

on a 25% hybrid 12+ months renewable contract opportunity in

Columbia

, SC. Role:

Project Manager Under limited supervision, reporting to STS Management, serves as an experienced Project Manager responsible for multiple infrastructure, cloud-based, information security, and/or application-level projects.

This contractor will be one member of a team that is comprised of proven experts in some or all of the fields of analysis, research, project management, networking, virtual environments, information security, encryption, network automation, centralized IT management, Microsoft applications, SQL database management systems, end-user support, and applications development or support environments, etc.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:1. Serves as Project Manager for specific South Carolina agency projects and activities; works with agency Security and Technology Services (STS) Management on priorities and timeframes of projects; plans work and schedule for projects; coordinates interaction between interrelated project teams; reviews and assesses progress of agency projects and activities and takes corrective action where necessary2. Ensures that agency projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements3. Is required to follow agency’s methodology, the Project Management Approach For The Systems Development Lifecycle4. Assists Agency management and project stakeholders in information technology planning related to the agency program5. Clarifies expectations and defines requirements. Directs the work activities and priorities of team leaders, architects, consultants, analysts, and technicians engaged in design, procurement, testing, and implementation of agency projects and activities. Responsible for providing feedback to agency management on staff, assignments, training, development, and performance related to agency.6. Serves as primary contact person for agency project stakeholders and contractors to resolve day-to-day issues, process change requests, and manage schedules for agency projects and activities. Escalates to the agency management and project sponsors any issues, change requests, and schedule impacts.7. Coordinates with agency management and resources responsible for ongoing maintenance and support of agency components post-implementation as needed for knowledge transfer and for coordination with new agency implementation.8. Estimates, tracks and reports on costs, including potential hard dollar, and internal agency personnel and contractor hours. Reports regularly to Management and Sponsor as to project status, including project accomplishments, issues, risks, and financials. Serves as project advisor to agency Management, Project Sponsors, and Steering Committee.9. Documents expected benefits, such as reduction in cycle time, personnel savings, and any hard dollar savings for any enhancement requests other than ones mandated by legislation.10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):1. Excellent verbal and written communications to include grammar, composition, punctuation, writing, editing and proofreading skills2. Team player3. Leadership skills4. Working knowledge of the PMI project management lifecycle5. Experience in developing and maintaining documentation for core project collateral, training, policies, procedures, and best practices6. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the needs of technical peers, technical and user management, business users, vendors, and staff members7. At least 3 years of experience on infrastructure or network-related projects as well as applications projects8. Experience with meeting facilitation9. Working knowledge of the change management lifecycle10. Experience with requirements / environments for PCI, PUB1075, and/or NIST.

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):1. Experience as a project managerin government IT projects2. Knowledge of Microsoft products- Windows, SharePoint, Microsoft Project, MS Office, Office 365, Visio3. Knowledge of information technology best practices, organization and operations4. BA and/or QA experience5. Ability to write training documentation and/or procedures6. Vendor management skills7. Metrics analysis and reporting8. Applicable industry certifications for project management or specific technologies9. Easily adapts to changing priorities in a dynamic environment10. Ability to conduct research into issues and products as required11. Information security experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:1. A Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and four (4) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or an Associate's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and six (6) years of experience in information technology systems or related area; or a High School diploma and eight (8) years of experience in information technology systems or related area2. PMP certification verifiable via https://www.pmi.org/certifications/registry

PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:Industry certifications in field
