The Project Manager II will be responsible for the management of one or more highly complex strategic projects within Maxim’s Information Services Department. The Project Manager II will drive projects from original concept through final implementation. Projects may span three or more organizational boundaries and follow Traditional or Agile project management practices. The Project Manager II will also develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The Project Manager II should be well versed in the delivery of Traditional and Agile project methodologies.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Defines project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals and objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts

Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within the project team

Adheres to Maxim’s Project Management Lifecycle(PMLC) and System Development Lifecycle(SDLC) – Traditional and Agile

Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path

Facilitates and guides self-directed multi-disciplinary teams in a matrixed environment

Proactively informs stakeholders and customers of project schedule, risks and issues, and changes in scope

Effectively remove team and program level roadblocks

Identifies and prioritizes project risks and develop associated risk response plans

Works in collaboration with resource managers and project teams to forecast internal resource capacity

Estimates and tracks project costs and manages associated project budget

Facilitates project change management process as it relates to schedule, scope, and costs

Maintains strategic alignment of projects as it relates to original project goals and success criteria

Defines new project management processes as well as actively participate in the continuous improvement of existing processes

Coaches or mentors less experienced team members

Manages vendors, assigns activities, and coordinates efforts during the development and support of IT solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

Extensive knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and Traditional project management practices. CSM, PMI-ACP or Agile certification preferred.

Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required

Computer proficiency required

Experience in facilitating change

Extensive background with project management processes, technique and tools

Extensive background with multiple SDLC processes across multiple disciplines

Ability to think critically and solve problems

Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to work well with people from many different disciplines

Ability to drive consensus amongst diverse groups

Demonstrated understanding of business and technical architectures

Strong presentation and written communication skills

7+ years of IT project management experience

10+ years of IT/Business Experience

Healthcare, EMR/EHR and/or Healthcare Billing experience preferred
