What you'll doDaily activities/tasks include maintenance of unit procedures and process documentation, review of content developed by subject matter experts to ensure the content is compliant, compelling, credible, correct, consistent, concise and clear. Schedule and facilitate review updates, pink, red, gold team reviews, technical work sessions. Organization is comparable to a Fire Department! When not engaged in a response effort, maintenance and housekeeping tasks are underway. When there is a proposal response underway, the focus is on that item and all that goes with preparing and submitting a winning response! Coordinates the overall proposal management process and provides guidance into the proposal-related policies, processes, and procedures. Facilitates all phases of the proposal life cycle to ensure complete, compliant, responsive, and customer-centric proposals are delivered on time for various solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, task orders, etc.) ranging from minimum size and complexity to very large efforts requiring coordination with multiple business partners. Description The perfect applicant will:- Develops and executes strategies and plans to ensure development, documentation, and delivery of quality, thorough, timely, and accurate solicitation responses that meet the client's requirements. Coordinates response activities such as scheduling, resource coordination, status reporting, and document reviews.
- Facilitates development of appropriate, accurate, and differentiating proposal response materials from across multiple business units to include content development, editing, document design, and graphic design support.
- Provides guidance to team members on the proposal development life cycle, related processes, and procedures. Contributes to the development and documentation of department policies and procedures. Processes recommendations and tasks for related business units (such as Business Development).
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of departmental resources such as knowledge bases, proposal management tools, and user repositories.
- Bachelor's degree - any job-related field OR
- 4 years of job-related work experience OR
- 2 years of job-related experience plus an associate degree in any job-related field
- 5 years technical writing and/or proposal development experience.
- Work experience includes a minimum of 2 years of proposal development experience in an IT environment.
- Includes technical document development design experience.
- Technical writing experience in an IT environment.
- Proposal writing and/or editing experience, preferably in a marketing organization.
- Project lead or project management experience.
- Experience using document management software packages.
- Foundation certification from the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP)
- Familiar with the Shipley Methodology
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Solid presentation skills and the ability to communicate, influence, and gain commitment from team members.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously, independently as well as with groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including management, highly skilled technical staff, non-technical personnel, and with external clients.
- As needed, capacity to work weekends and holidays to meet deliverable timelines.
- Broad understanding of corporate products and processes.
- PC, copier and fax machine.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, MS Project, Visio, Adobe products, or other equivalent software products.
- High level skills with MS Word, Adobe Acrobat DC PRO
