There is an exciting opportunity within LGC’s National Laboratories QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health and Environment) Team to provide support in managing quality and safety systems and developing continuous improvement.Measurement is crucial to our everyday lives: clinicians making a medical diagnosis, to labs providing forensic evidence to support the justice system or tests to safeguard the quality of our water. The National Measurement Laboratory (NML) works closely with government, academia and industry to understand, address and manage the measurement challenges they face, delivering world-leading chemical and bio-measurement science to keep these measurements running efficiently.Under contract to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), LGC hosts and operates the UK’s combined Official Medicines Control Laboratory (OMCL) for chemical testing and the British Pharmacopoeia (BP) Commission Laboratory. The work of The MHRA Laboratories at LGC helps to protect public health by ensuring that medicines and healthcare products are safe for those who use them. The MHRA laboratories carried out routine surveillance testing on licensed medicineThe QSHE Team is responsible for managing, auditing and developing the quality and safety systems in the National Laboratories area of LGC. We ensure all staff align with relevant legislation, standards and guides. We also provide advice, support and promote continuous improvement across the business area. You will receive full training while you work within the team and with representatives within the delivery teams. We will support you to develop within a multifaceted, lively, quality and safety environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead auditor for internal ISO9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality and safety auditsInvestigation of QSHE incidents and accidents as the need arises.Deliver training in compliance with QSHE requirements.Responsible for preparing and delivering training in line with NEBOSH qualification.Responsible for coordination and administration of internal and external audits.Responsible for administration of quality and safety documentation – standard operating procedures, quality procedures and other controlled documentation.Responsible for coordination of meetings as the need arises.Responsible for reviewing and updating quality and safety databases.Delivering high quality administrative outputs such as monthly reports.Use of Corrective And Preventative Actions management system.Support within teams to deliver quality or safety objectives as required.Full training will be given on all of the above.
