Mussallem, Chairman and CEOThe Senior Director, Data Governance will champion global data management, play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, completeness, compliance and security of the organization's supply chain and quality data for the product, vendor, and patient domains. The individual will be responsible for devising and executing a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with the organization's supply chain and quality objectives, digital transformation strategy, and support the development of data-driven insights and decisions. The company is seeking a leader who can lead large global teams, is passionate about novel technologies and approaches, is nimble and will drive key business orchestration for setting up data through the Edwards ecosystem. Improve business outcomes such as NPI/approval cycle time while ensuring the product data setup is complete and accurate to register, plan, source, make, deliver, and record financials for the product.This role requires the Data Governance leader to build relationships with senior leaders from R&D, global supply chain and quality (GSC&Q), IT, and Finance and understand existing process and data related challenges and build strategies and business cases to solve them. This leader will also partner with the rest of digital transformation leaders and IT teams to enable processes in supply chain that will ensure process and system connectivity through accurate, standardized, and harmonized data. In addition, this leader will be accountable to deliver data readiness for all systems deployment initiatives.This leader will report to the Vice President, Data Governance, Data Science, and Digital Innovation Lab and will be part of the global supply chain’s strategy and digital transformation organization.Key Responsibilities

Set and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy for product, vendor and patient master including efforts to reengineer and optimize business processes and systems.

Develop and continuously provide annual updates to strategic plans and multi-year roadmaps in support of AOP.

Lead definition alignment of Enterprise Product, Vendor Master, and patient master and define business rules in partnership with R&D, Business Unit, Global Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and IT stakeholders. Promote adoption of end-to-end product, vendor, and patient data governance processes by establishing clear understanding of cross-functional business and data requirements and ensuring digital readiness with stakeholder organizations.

Establish a framework for data governance that includes roles, responsibilities, and processes for data management, quality, security, and compliance.

Create a team of data stewards, data engineers, data solutions, and data governance subject matter experts to oversee the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the data governance framework.

This role will also entail leading and mentoring a team of data experts to support new product launches or any product data changes, either due to product revisions or compliance.

Define and track key metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data governance program, such as data quality, data security, and compliance.

Develop and implement a training program to educate stakeholders on data governance best practices, policies, and procedures.

Ability to influence the global EW stakeholder community to raise the awareness and importance of Master Data Management and Governance.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to govern data management, quality, security, and compliance, and ensure they are aligned with the organization's overall strategy.

Create councils with stakeholders to align on data standards, policies, and procedures.

Invest in tools and technologies to automate data governance processes, such as data quality checks, data lineage tracking, and data security.

Establish a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed of data governance initiatives, progress, and best practices.

Review and update the data governance strategy and plan on a regular basis to ensure it is aligned with the changing business and regulatory environment.

Ensure that supply chain and quality data governance is compliant with industry standards and regulations such as FDA, ISO, and other related regulations.

Partner with other areas within the supply chain and quality functions, IT, as well as with external stakeholders, to implement data governance best practices and share data governance insights.

Strong people leader with the ability to develop talent at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Information Systems).

Experience leading a team of data stewards, data owners, and data governance subject matter experts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s in business administration or Master’s in Information Management.

14+ years of experience, including 10+ in data governance, data management, program management or supply chain management.

Knowledge of best practices for data governance, frameworks and processes for supply chain management.

Experience in the medical device industry and knowledge of relevant regulations.

Experience with data governance-related technologies such as data catalogs, data dictionaries, and data lineage tracking tools.

Understanding of data management, data warehousing, and data analytics concepts.

Experience leading a team of data stewards, data owners, and data governance subject matter experts.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and to manage multiple priorities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, evaluate, and resolve data governance issues.
