POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization. Implement policies, processes and procedures in support of Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) objectives.
  • Identify and integrate ITAM processes with related processes within IS, to include Integrated Cloud Orchestration System (ICOS), procurement management, contract management, change management, and incident management.

Required Work Experience:
  • 5 years of asset management, procurement, workstation support, or other job related work experience.

Responsibilities/Requirements:
  • Supports the asset management life cycle of information technology hardware and/or software assets throughout the organization.
  • Ensures appropriate reconciliation of assets across multiple company networks to maintain an accurate inventory.

Important Notes:
  • Analytical skills are critical to this position.
  • 95% of this role is a "desk job" using Excel and some Access. A 'pure' data analyst would not be a fit as the individual must understand software licensing and hardware components.
  • "Inventory" to this group means lists of assets, not inventory on a shelf.
  • To qualify candidates need experience supporting an environment equivalent to 10,000 users and 5,000 servers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • 40% Analyze and reconcile asset discovery data against current inventory data, entitlement data, and contractual terms and conditions for IT assets. Create and execute action plans to research and resolve identified gaps. Audit hardware inventories for accuracy. Analyze hardware utilization reports to understand current demand and forecast future utilization. Establish appropriate inventory levels to support business demand.
  • 30% Provide ITAM support and services to IS projects upgrading or implementing new software and hardware assets. Maintain involvement into IT operations and system configuration changes that may impact ITAM functions, inventory data, or licensing compliance. Forecast, track and notify interested IS organizations of critical lifecycle and contractual milestones and activities (expirations, renewals, etc.). Provide data, knowledge and preparation in support of the milestones as appropriate.
  • 20% implement processes for IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) activities ensuring work is in compliance with regulatory, government, and customer requirements. Actively seek and identify opportunities for cost savings and containment. Package and present ITAM savings opportunities to Senior Management.
  • 10% Participate in budget creation and development efforts related to IT assets. Mentor entry level ITAM personnel.

Skills:
  • Bachelors Degree in Job related degree field, OR Associates degree in Job related degree field and 2 years of job-related IT exp OR: 7 Years
  • Added 4 years of IT job-related work exp: 9 Years
  • Asset management and procurement experience in a large shop: 5 Years
  • Knowledge of Asset Management procedures and concepts, IAITAM or other industry certification a plus.: 2 Years
  • Working understanding of hardware/software licensing/maintenance models is a plus: 2 Years Proficiency with spreadsheets (MS Excel) and database software (MS Access): 2 Years
  • Experience managing reports of inventory in an environment equivalent to 10,000 users and 5,000 servers: 2 Years
  • Strong Analytical, Assessment and Problem Solving Skills: 2 Years
