Sr. Manager of Software Development Member Engagement Summary:As a Sr. Manager of Software Development for the Member Engagement division, you will be responsible for the management of one of the two software development teams geographically distributed in multiple US locations and offshore.This position directly oversees the software development of the applications supporting the DEA and Recert Products. The Sr. Manager of Software Development is responsible for ensuring that the development team is aligned with client implementations, sales, and senior leadership. In this position you must ensure that corporate policies are followed. It is required that this position stay current with technology and software development, best practices, health care policies, and laws such as HIPAA and HITECH.Duties and Responsibilities:Manage the MMS development teams

Prioritize software development efforts leveraging our Governance Process and our product team. Our R&D team has a dedicated Project Manager that will assist with this task as well

Work with our Architect to ensure the team is following best software architecture practices

Partner with the VP of Software Development and business partners to develop product roadmaps, and conduct regularly scheduled operational review meetings

Assist building business cases and Capital Asset Requests (CARs) to secure funds for R&D driven projects in our road map.

Partner with the VP of Software Development to create strategic plans to expose our platforms at the enterprise level

Ensure that all IT and corporate policies are followed

Have expert knowledge in DevOps and Cloud based software development techniques

Interact with peers in the IT organization to formulate best practices and integrations to provide synergies and cost efficiencies.

Hire, train, develop, and evaluate the software development staff, providing a collaborative environment for employees to succeed and grow.

Lead the team with a combination of TFEs and Contractors (onshore and offshore)

Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience managing software development teams and demonstrated leadership skills

10+ years of experience in software and/or program testing

Experience managing offshore teams

Additional Skills:Leadership and technical experience working in a software development organization

10+ years software development

Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with fellow employees, clients, and vendors

Expert knowledge of agile software development practices

Healthcare software development

Education:4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
