BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.What Will You Do?In this dynamic role, you will provide structural engineering and technical leadership in the development of new and improved building & construction products, systems and software.  You will lead the engineering aspects of product development, testing and evaluations (including market trials), to ensure new product designs are both structurally sound and meet customer expectations for installation.You will:ensure current and future products & systems meet all regulatory & compliance requirements, including the NCC and relevant standardsidentify opportunities for new and improved products and solutions based on changing industry standards, compliance requirements and customer feedbackadopt a hands-on and proactive approach to developing concepts, testing prototypes and trialling design optimisations for NPD to meet technical deliverableslead the technical product engineering and assessment of NPD concepts to enable effective technical evaluations and approvals, including liaising with relevant external consultants and industry expertsprovide technical support for products, engineering & design software and testing equipment as requiredsupport the design, development, trialling and installation of equipment to produce new products, including trial and pilot line equipment for product development, as well as scale-up to manufacturing in preparation for NPD launchdevelop technical literature to support product launches, specification and salesprovide post-launch support for NPD projects from a technical perspectiveAs an experienced structural engineer, you will have had experience delivering on end-to-end product development projects, with building products knowledge and exposure to building codes and regulations. In addition, you will have:tertiary qualifications in Structural/Civil Engineeringan understanding of the design of steel structures including structural elements made with cold formed steelextensive practical experience in dealing with steel structuresgood knowledge of Australian construction practice & NCCattention to detail and accuracy in dealing with documentationproject management experienceresearch and analytical skillsstakeholder management experienceYou will also have key competencies in:Information Gathering and Analysis: You effectively analyse & report technical data & findings.Building Beneficial Relationships: You collaborate with technical teams and other cross functional groups from the commercial and operational sides of the business.Delivering Effective Communication: You present and convey information confidently and in a clear and effective way.
