Shift: Monday - Friday day shift

Pay Rate: $140,000 - $150,000

Full Job Description

As a Technical Lead (Tech Lead), you will provide technical leadership and support for SAFe Agile Team(s) in developing solutions, maintaining operations and adhering to DOD system security standards. Working closely with Architects and Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for implementing the architectural vision following ITIL/ITSM best practices, create scalable solutions, mentor and grow junior team members, participate in team Agile ceremonies, provide clear technical details for user stories, assist with production issues if needed. You have a passion for learning technology and also teaching it to others.

  • Experience with ITIL/ITSM
  • Process design and documentation

  • Experience with writing unit tests
  • Strong interest in staying current with industry trends in technology
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under limited to no supervision, both independently and within a team environment
  • BA/BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field preferred
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own technical software development: leading implementation of architecture, code reviews, mentoring junior developers and creating technical details for agile team user stories.
  • Work closely with Enterprise Architect to understand architectural vision, implement the architectural vision through hands-on code development for complex initiatives, both on a large and medium scale.
  • Work closely with Director of Engineering to lead technical implementation of best practices and standards ensuring code and systems delivered from team is scalable and maintainable while maintaining a practical balance between technical debt and progress.
  • Directly mentor high-performing engineers to help them grow their skills, enhance their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done as it pertains to coding standards, practices and methodologies.
  • Lead code reviews using an open, educational approach to further all team knowledge.
  • Liaise with Product Owner and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate business requirements into detailed, actionable technical user stories.
  • Coordinate with Scrum Master to ensure product backlog(s) sufficiently populated in advance of coming sprints
  • Provide accurate estimates for completing a variety of development efforts both individually and within team estimating/scoring of user stories.
  • Write and/or supplement user stories to include technical details enabling efficient estimation and implementation.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with all levels of recipients.
  • Properly manages time to focus on the proper priorities and communicates any conflicts of priorities to the appropriate individuals.
  • Prioritizes documentation at a sufficiently high level to ensure adequate knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in architecting and developing innovative technical designs and implementation approaches with the overall product goals and business objectives in mind.
  • Train team to understand and follow ITIL/ITSM best practices
