Preferred qualifications
  • Proficiency in Model-Based Definition and Drawing-Based Definition utilizing CATIA V5 with configuration management in ENOVIA
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Equipment and Tool Engineering offers a creative design outlet with tangible application opportunities. The team solves production system challenges through the design, procurement, and implementation of new production assets and root cause analysis troubleshooting.
  • This position supports Boeing South Carolina 787 Aft Body, Mid Body, and Final Assembly Business Units with Equipment & Tool Engineering work statement.
Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements. Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision. Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan. Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling. Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements. Establishes and validates spares requirements. Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work. Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training. Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution. Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration. Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.

Education:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.). Degree not required
