job detailsWe are seeking a tenured Tooling Manager for our night shift (7p-7a, 2-2-3)

Oversee the maintenance, repair, and replacement of injection molds.

Develop and implement tooling strategies to optimize performance and lifespan.

Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop new molds and tooling.

Ensure tooling designs meet production requirements and quality standards.

Process Improvement:

Analyze tooling performance and identify areas for improvement.

Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Quality Assurance:

Monitor tooling quality and address any issues related to mold performance or part quality.

Ensure tooling meets company and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and train tooling technicians and maintenance staff.

Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth operations and address tooling-related issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications.

Prepare reports on tooling performance, costs, and improvement initiatives.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure tooling operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.

Promote a safe working environment for all team members.

Project Management:

Lead tooling projects from concept through to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones and deadlines.

This is a direct hire role located in Cowpens, SC.salary: $100,000 - $115,000 per yearshift: Firstwork hours: 7 PM - 7 AMeducation: AssociateResponsibilitiesManage the maintenance, repair and calibration of all tooling and molds used in the plastic injection process in a manner that reaches department KPI'sDevelop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipmentLead a team of skilled technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with tooling and molds to include identifying and resolving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issuesCoordinate repairs and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and production delaysIdentify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains and cost savings in tooling and mold maintenance operationsImplement improvements to enhance reliability, reduce waste and improve overall productivitySupervise all hourly tooling personnel in regards to scheduling, shift coverage, andvacation requests Approve time off requests and payroll timesheets in an accurate and timely manner Manage tooling personnel performance with the support of the Operations Manager;to include documentation Conduct performance reviews as per company standard Distribute daily work assignments Keep a record of all performance related events throughout the year (good and bad)including e-mails, notes, letter, KPI's, etc.The essential functions of this role include:
