Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AM Operations Manager, with the passion and drive for leadership whilst managing and developing a safe operation.

The AM Operations Manager, will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring compliance with all legislation including occupational health and safety, industrial matters, dangerous goods, trade practices, environmental protection etc.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures relating to your position
  • Implementing strategies to achieve Incident and Injury Free (IIF) to achieve safety outcomes
  • Managing the AM in line with operational needs using skilled and appropriately trained managers and supervisors to ensure all business requirements are met and exceeded
  • Ensuring that correct staffing levels are maintained in accordance with workload schedules
  • Developing and training staff in line with required competencies and the values of the business
  • Reviewing KPI information and implement the required change to drive optimum results
  • Assisting with growing market share in core business activity
  • Maximising productivity levels by setting strong targets and consistent measurement
  • Maintaining and improving service excellence

Qualifications

Key requirements include:

  • Ensure sound operational cost reporting and operational KPI analysis for all areas under your control.
  • Maximising operational productivity levels
  • Understanding of the Air-Freight business (preferrable)
  • Dangerous Goods knowledge
  • Maintaining service excellence to customers, both internal and external
  • Ensuring equipment is appropriate to the tasks being undertaken
  • Employing sound planning techniques to minimise the impact of seasonal variations in freight volumes
  • Fostering a spirit of teamwork and co-operation among all employees
  • Ensuring utilisation of equipment (PM & Trailers) is optimised.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a similar role managing operations, transport/logistics industry exposure preferred
  • Strong verbal & written skills, communication is an essential part of the role
  • Team orientated and ability to guide/coach/lead
  • Motivated and driven to achieve success
  • Excellent leadership and motivation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Safety & compliance knowledge
