The Data Engineer plays a key role in enabling TAL’s data-driven capabilities by designing, building and maintaining robust data pipelines and curated data assets that support reporting, analytics, operational insights and AI use cases. This role spans the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and transformation through to orchestration and data delivery, ensuring data is reliable, scalable and accessible for business needs. Leveraging modern engineering practices, automation and cloud-native technologies, the Data Engineer enhances data quality, performance, resilience and reusability across TAL’s evolving data platform.Working in close collaboration with architects, platform and analytics teams, product owners and business stakeholders, the Data Engineer translates business requirements into practical, high-quality engineering solutions. The role ensures alignment with TAL’s data standards and governance frameworks while contributing to key delivery outcomes. In doing so, it also supports continuous improvement and uplift of engineering practices across the broader data ecosystem.In this role you will:Design, build and maintain robust batch and near real-time data pipelines that ingest, transform and publish data for reporting, analytics, operational and AI-enabled use casesBuild and maintain data transformations that prepare trusted, well-structured and reusable datasets for downstream consumptionUse modern cloud data tooling across Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and related services to implement secure, scalable and observable data workflows.Embed data quality checks, validation logic, lineage capture and operational controls into pipelines and datasetsCollaborate closely with architects, platform engineers, analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to shape practical and reusable solutions
