GENERAL KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIESHas a thorough knowledge of the hotel and all services provided to the guestMaintains the high standard of service, appearance and social skills set according to the company policyWorks in harmony with all departments and employees, is willing to assist others if and when required,Is familiar with all policies and procedures, house rules, fire, security and emergency procedures as well as all checklists pertaining to the positionPerforms any reasonable duty as instructed by the Maintenance departmentPerform daily checks on rooms, lighting and signage throughout the propertyMaintain cleanliness and upkeep of back of house areasUphold health and safety regulations and assist with managing emergency procedures in the event of e.g.: blocked drains, burst water pipes, fire, electrical failuresBe available for emergency call outs. Fault finding and resolvingEnsuring that all hotel equipment is in good working condition in order to prevent break downs and glitchesMust have extensive knowledge of chilled water systems, cassette units, split units freezer/cold rooms and ice machinesMust be able to understand Star/ delta connections, delay timers and contactorsWill be required to manage outsourced contractors to ensure maximum productivityHighly competent in electrical and good trouble shooting skillsKnowledge of AHU safeties, flow switches and overheating (OHS) statsMust be able to work on variable speed drives and diagnose faultsMechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.OCCUPATIONAL RISK EXPOSURE (OHAS ACT 85 OF 1993), i.e. Risk FactorPhysical risk factors, Ergonomic Risk factors, Chemical Risk Factors, Biological Risk Factors, Psycho-Social Risk Factors
