As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.This detail-orientated role exists to provide mechanical engineering expertise and support to develop, assess and implement improvement opportunities across the Cold Rolling and Coating department. Additionally, the role provides engineering technical design and project management skills to meet department needs.This exciting opportunity is not only considering Mechanical Engineers of all levels, but also open to Graduate Mechanical Engineers seeking to develop their career further.What will you do?Being key to this role, you will:provide expertise in mechanical and some structural design engineering to help minimize business risks associated with the application of technology in manufacturing improvement projectsbe involved with mechanical solutions for capital projects.deliver all engineering solutions and services to agreed schedules.provide quality, cost effective engineering solutions that meet process functional requirements and operating plant life.More about youSupported by a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree, you will have experience in applying your engineering knowledge within a heavy industrial environment.Ideally you will bring:experience with mechanical engineering design including the completion of detailed calculations;a general knowledge of engineering design tools such as Autocad and Inventorbe able to interpret and evaluate design modelling completed in FEA and other analysis software packagesstrong safety focus; and strong relationship building and the ability to work collaboratively with a team and many customers.Why BlueScopeAs BlueScope continues to go from strength to strength, a career with us provides you with the opportunity to grow and be rewarded.
