As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla, including the Plate Mill that produces various plate products for a large range of customers, both domestic and international.

The Plate Rolling team converts steel slab products into plate by controlling the heating and cooling processes within the plant, to produce a range of plate products for our customers. As the NDT Technician, you will utilise your skills to carry out quality inspection and testing of plate products to Australian and International standards in order to meet our internal and external customers’ expectations.

This role supports a rotating day and night (8-hour) shift pattern.

  • actively participate in achieving business targets and ensuring operations and inspections are within standards
  • prepare written technical reports on inspections of equipment and products and continuously strive for business improvements
  • maintain your AS ISO 9712 certification or be supported in obtaining this certification

More About You

With your previous exposure and experience in NDT technical testing, you will bring:

  • a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
  • AS ISO 9712 level 1 certification in Ultrasonic Testing or working towards gaining this certification
  • a familiarity with Australian Standards, International Standards and NATA requirements
  • a high level of attention to detail with an analytical approach
  • the ability to problem-solve by identifying root cause and develop resolutions
