We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.Our Sustainability and Resilience team specialises in helping communities adapt, recover, and thrive in the face of climate change. We focus on managing physical and transition climate impacts, driving sustainable infrastructure development, and supporting organisations on their journey to net zero.We are a passionate team of climate and sustainability specialists working within an organisation creating meaningful change both in Australia and around the globe. We are looking for a professional to join us and contribute to sustainability and climate resilience strategies across our public and private sector clients.You will collaborate with industry leaders to deliver projects directly with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Sydney Metro, the NSW Government, and major asset owners. Because we sit within a global firm, you will also have the opportunity to plug into AECOM’s enviable pipeline, including our role as the delivery partner for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.How you’ll make a differenceAs a member of our Sustainability and Resilience Practice, you will be a core part of our multidisciplinary project teams and support a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. Your day-to-day will involve:Leading or supporting the delivery of projects in climate risk and adaptation, infrastructure sustainability, urban and social resilience, and net zero carbon management.Analysing complex quantitative and qualitative data (including climate projections and modelling) to identify climate-related risks, impacts, and strategic opportunities for clients.Conducting detailed research and technical assessments to inform project recommendations.Facilitating client workshops, stakeholder engagement, and project meetings.Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (including engineers, planners, economists, and scientists) to develop innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions.Supporting regulatory approval processes including Environmental Impact Assessments for flagship projects across ANZ.Leading the preparation of high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables that communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.Championing the integration of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence (leveraging AECOM's recent investments in AI) to streamline workflows and enhance climate data analysis.The work you will be exposed toThe team works across all aspects of the climate resilience and sustainability agendas including:Delivering scenario analysis, physical and transition risk assessments, climate vulnerability assessments, and development of innovative digital tools.Embedding sustainable principles across the project lifecycle, conducting materiality assessments, and Infrastructure Sustainability rating assessments for landmark projects like Sydney Metro and Sydney Water's major capital investment programs. We also work with corporates to deliver strategic sustainability advisory.Assessing community vulnerability and integrating resilience principles into planning and reconstruction to ensure our communities are resilient to future shocks and stresses.Supporting organisations to navigate mandatory and voluntary frameworks, specifically focusing on readiness and response to the ASRS, AASB, NSW Treasury, and TNFD disclosures.
