(BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.UPF is a multi-year, multi- billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.The UPF project works 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.Job SummaryIn this role, you will provide IT operational/technical project support. You will define the IT infrastructure, network, and communication requirements for site offices, implement and support hardware deployments, and evaluate new software upgrades and enhancements. Your work will ensure information technology is tailored to the project, driving successful outcomes and client satisfaction. #LI-TN1Major Responsibilities
Provides IT operational/technical support on small to medium scale projects and/or acts as a lead for a small team
Implements and supports IT hardware deployments and network infrastructure systems following and adhering to Corporate, GBU and Project IT procedures, standards, and security requirements
Builds and updates the standard GBU software portfolio with GBU functional and corporate input
Coordinates and conducts evaluations of new software and evaluates new upgrades, enhancements, and security patches
Participates in the development of the standard GBU processes, policies, and procedures
Participates in IS&T and automation/IM Planning for proposals, studies, and projects
Leads requirements reviews with functions and other business stakeholders.
Develops moderately complex IT reports, dashboards and automates workflows
Provides metrics for IS&T governance compliance.
Provides input to technical scopes of work for contractors
Education and Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
Must have at least 6 years of experience in software development, application support and troubleshooting.
Must have US Citizenship
Must either possess a DOE Q clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge and experience with software development methodologies and web server deployments and administration.
Experience working closely with customers to understand their requirements and expectations by asking questions and listening.
Must have experience with software development in C#, .Net, Entity framework, JavaScript, and web services
Must have experience with Source Code Management repositories (for example, TFS, GIT)
Must have experience with database development skills (MS SQL, ORACLE)
Must have experience with Agile Software Development Methodology
Must have experience with software configuration management.
Must have performed execution of software test plans for developed applications.
Works with vendor in troubleshooting advanced issues to resolution.
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Strong problem solving and end user support skills
Must be highly organized and a responsible time manager
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to document technical processes in a clear and concise manner.
Hands on experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems (i.e. Windows 7, 10, 2012 R2).
Computer literate in common software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
