Position Details:Associate project manager- Nashville, TNLocation : Nashville, TN (Hybrid)Duration : 2+ years Job Summary:The program manager for Maternal and Child Health Emergency Preparedness and Response will be housed in the Division of Family Health and Wellness within the Tennessee Department of Health. This position will work closely with programs across the Division, as well as internal partners such as the Emergency Preparedness Program within the Division of Communicable Diseases and Emergency Preparedness and external partners that support families. The primary responsibilities of this position are to advocate for the inclusion of, serve as the subject matter expert for, and develop resources that address the special needs of women of reproductive age, pregnant and postpartum women, infants, children and adolescents in emergency planning and response. Key Job Responsibilities- Facilitate cross-divisional emergency preparedness MCH activities including preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation.
- Lead monthly meetings between the Division of Family Health and Wellness and the Emergency Preparedness Program to advocate for MCH needs in emergency planning and response.
- Lead pre and post disaster assessments to understand the readiness and needs of the MCH population before, during, and after a disaster.
- Ensure the state’s Emergency Operations Plan specifically considers the needs of the MCH population, which includes at-risk and medically vulnerable women, infants, and children
- Develop and participate in emergency preparedness and response training and exercises, communication plans and tools/strategies to enhance statewide preparedness for addressing potential short- and long-term impacts of disasters and emerging threats on the MCH population
- Support the development and of coordination plans with public health programs in Family Health and Wellness (e.g., newborn metabolic screening, newborn hearing screening, home visiting, WIC, children and youth with special health care needs, and other MCH programs), to enhance statewide preparedness for addressing potential short- and long-term impacts of disasters and emerging threats on the MCH population
- Complete annual reporting related to MCH emergency preparedness and response for the Title V/MCH Block Grant
- Coordinate with external partners on quality improvement initiatives related to hospital discharge procedures for medically fragile children.
