Zycron has joined with a public sector client in search of an Broadband Project Manager - TelecomContract position (Long-Term)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Coordinates efforts to implement broadband infrastructure and expand digital residents. Provides daily coordination vendors that include financial and cost projections, grant funding assistance, equipment configurations, design for inside and outside plant for fiber-optic networks and network implementation, propose and track compliance with digital connectivity, and equity objectives of private partners. Ensures all production data from the field is being compiled and reported accurately; this includes reviewing with client and contractor and managing signatures and approvals and partnering with private companies to extend broadband connectivity, adoption, and effective use and participation. Coordinates and works with contractors on scheduling, material order issues and assist in any issue that comes up in this process to help minimize delays. Tracks state and federal funding opportunities, compile, and report on all project documentation to include scheduling, change order control including review and approval, weekly project production tracking, and as builds including print changes, splice matrix changes and fiber allocation changes. Provides leadership with weekly updates on all applicable programming.
- Ensures that stakeholders understand the project and its benefits & costs.
- Conduct research (literature review, conducting interviews) to understand options and challenges for utilization of fiber network as well as possible associated Wi-Fi/cellular pilot networks.
- Organize working committee of appropriate members to provide governance over aspects of broadband oriented projects.
- Conduct research/data collection as needed.
- Must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with management, staff, city and state officials, local agencies and the general, public. Requires the use of general office equipment such as computer, copier, fax machine and telephone. Requires the ability to operate an automobile to attend meetings and various work sites. Requires the ability to read, interpret and apply federal regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years’ professional experience in project management with five (5) of the seven (7) years in telecommunications/fiber optic industry preferred.
- Project Manager Certification preferred.
- 70% Broadband Experience
- 30% Project Manager Experience
