Birdsong Social is looking for the right candidate to fill the Chef de Cuisine. Full time position with benefits. Experience in full service and catering preferred. Very cool work environment with quarterly menu changes and options for chef driven events.
Chef is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene. This leadership role involves menu planning, staff management, inventory control, and maintaining cost efficiency while fostering a creative and collaborative kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Develop and innovate seasonal menus, incorporating fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure high performance and professional development.
Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to maintain culinary excellence.
Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.
Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering supplies, controlling costs, and minimizing waste.
Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and performance reviews.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef, or similar leadership role.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on detail and quality.
Creative mindset with a passion for food innovation and presentation.
Working Conditions:

Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
