The Critical Care Unit at LeConte Medical Center is comprised of an 8-bed ICU wing and 8 bed IMC (step-down) wing. With small nurse to patient ratios, our staff is able to give our critically ill patients the best possible care. The staff strives to create a warm and welcoming team environment that cultivates healing for the patients and their families, and each other.

Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

Correlates patient history and support systems within hospital care.

Assess learning needs of patient and family.

Develops and initiates teaching plan, involving patient and family.

Recommends interventions.

Evaluates plan of care.

Resolves problems regarding less complex issues without oversight or supervision.

Member of established active hospital committee or subcommittee with 75% participation in meetings.

Demonstrates willingness to precept new employees/students as directed.

Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

QualificationsMinimum Education : None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Minimum Experience: Must possess at least one (1) year of professional experience. License Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license.
