CereCore is seeking a Cloud Streaming Engineer/Kafka to join our team in Nashville, TN or 100% Remotely. This individual will work at one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services, HCA Healthcare. Overview: The Cloud Streaming Engineer will work directly to advance the data platform and data engineering vision of Accelerated Technologies. The role is a key hands-on keyboards contributor to all HCA Intelligence Net data deliverables, will drive platform modernization to the cloud, and will engineer platforms for automation, repeatability, and immediate and future needs of the business. Responsible for support, growing, and evolving Data Platforms and Services that enable critical healthcare applications for on-prem and Google Cloud Platform cloud environments This team is responsible for building data platforms across the enterprise that our developers can use. This team is focused on building and enabling that Kafka streaming service for the enterprise on Google Cloud Platform. The main experience candidates need to have is in Kafka. Google Cloud Platform experience is kind of a subset of that but not necessarily a requirement, but it's a secondary set of experience. We can deploy Kafka in AWS or Azure as well and probably in 5 years of less we will have that Kafka service deployed all over the place. While Google Cloud Platform is the start, it is not necessarily the end point. Looking for someone who has deep experience in Kafka not only utilizing it but also understand how to build and manage it. Ideal would be someone who has experience with a vendor of Kafka called Confluent. Google Cloud Platform or equivalent cloud is second requirement. Requirements: Experience in building, deploying, and managing Kafka Cloud services in Google Cloud Platform using Confluent Platform or other IaaS Solutions (or equivalent Cloud AWS, Azure)Experience with Confluent's Kafka Products and PlatformsExperience with the Kafka Ecosystem of Tools: Rest Proxy, Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, KSQL.Experience with Agile methodologies and scrum developmentExperience with Github Development or other Version Control SystemExperiencing working in a Product focused mindsetUnderstanding of Data Mesh principalsUnderstanding of SRE Principals and how to applyExperience with devops tool chain: CI/CD, IAC (Infrastructure as Code), Monitoring, Package Management, Version ControlExperience with restful APIsExperience with Hashicorp Terraform to build and deploy in Cloud environmentsExperience with support large software systems or platforms providing service, products, and value to its usersHands-on experience in troubleshooting problems for mission-critical applications and servicesExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse and distributed product teams in an agile environmentExperience supporting critical applications in the Cloud, preferably in Google Cloud PlatformProficient in one or more programming and/or scripting languages: java, scala, python, bash, C# Responsibilities: Design and build Kafka Streaming Platforms and solutions to support the Enterprise Drive Kafka Product evolution and strategy to enable the Enterprise Involved in all aspects of design, automating, and deploying software products into Google Cloud Platform Cloud using tools like Terraform and Ansible Using the DevOps toolchain to build automation across Cloud environments Supporting all Platforms and Services operationally for the Enterprise Work with cross-functional teams to identify the areas of opportunity to use Kafka and its tools for software solutions Bringing SRE mindset to drive operational excellence Drive monitoring and alerting requirements/implementation using SRE principals across Kafka products Collaborate with and mentor members of the team and other coworkers Be agile and embrace change CereCore was formed in 2001 as a shared service business within a large hospital operator.
