Position: Epidemiologist 1Duration: 05/01/2023 - 06/30/2024Location: Nashville, TN 37243Hours/Week: 37.5 hours this position will be onsite a minimum of 5 days per month (at least one day/week + additional day within the month). Specific day of the week is not yet set.

DescriptionThis contract Epidemiologist position is located within the CLIENT of Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP). This position will support the CEDEP Strategic Initiatives team to advance Division-wide strategic planning efforts. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:• Provide epidemiological support of Division-wide strategic initiatives by conducting routine and ad hoc analyses while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Prepare presentations on analyses to support data-informed decision making by Division leaders• Develop and manage RED Cap databases while ensuring data quality; create routine and ad hoc reports to support grant and legislative reporting and evolving team or Division needs• Lead the development of a year-end annual report highlighting Division-wide metrics• Support CEDEP strategic planning efforts, such as participating in working groups, collecting and managing data, and developing high-level summaries and visualizations• Create and maintain Tableau dashboards to track CEDEP strategic planning efforts and the rollout of a statewide Mental Health First Aid initiative• Collaborate with team members, Division leaders, and program epidemiologists to evaluate and maintain HIPAA hybrid data sharing agreements• Participate in team meetings and contribute to programmatic discussions to advance team or Division priorities

Required Skills:• Proficient in analytical methods and statistical software; SAS experience preferred• Expert in Microsoft suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)• Experience with data visualization required; Tableau proficiency strongly preferred• Experience managing databases; RED Cap experience is strongly preferred• Strong oral and written communication skills, technical writing skills are required• Experience supporting public health programs is strongly preferred
