SUMMARY: This position will be serving as a liaison in the proper implementation of our ergonomic program. Tasks This position requires daily interaction with Team Members in the HMP program investigation of new illness cases to ensure that effective root cause prevention was attained and preventative measures are being followed on each shift. Requires writing and follow up of work orders in Plantview performing various ergonomic audits and entering information to tracking systems. This position requires facilitating ergonomic program awareness training at the hourly level knife sharpness audits assisting AHTs with fitting new Team Members with the proper equipment other tasks as assigned. REQUIRMENTS: Applicant must have basic computer skills to include basic data entry to Plantview Excel and other Microsoft Office software. This position requires that the Ergonomic Coordinator have good communication skills, bilingual preferred. Experience in a Case Ready facility in multiple positions preferred. Team members with six or more points or more than one written warning or a suspension on their disciplinary record within the last 12 months or a Core Safety Mandate violation within the last 24 months will not be considered for the positionThis person is responsible of Monitoring Ergonomic issues in the entire plant while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.Daily interaction with team members in the HMP program to assure proper care and progression within the program. Daily investigation of new illness cases opened to assure that effective root cause prevention was attained and that preventative measures are being followed on each shift. Daily assistance with 5 Why root cause identification and prevention documentation on the shifts. Facilitating proper documentation of work needing done on the floors through the writing of work orders for items they find as well as following up on ergo work orders weekly to assure completion and successful implementation. As needed ergo program awareness training at the hourly level, so they can be utilized in monthly line meetings to raise ergonomic program awareness with the hourly workforce, both new and veteran. Daily floor tours looking for poor knife techniques, so they can serve as liaisons to the supervisors and training staff to help with improving our knife skills in the facility. As needed knife testing utilizing the Anago knife sharpness tester to help facilitate the successful use of that piece of equipment. Ergo Specialists will also be trained on how to identify problems with equipment coming out of the knife room to assure our knife room is operating as intended. Ergo Specialists will also be required to help orientation trainers and AHTs with fitting new team members with proper equipment as well as adjusting equipment as necessary. Daily floor tours to help supervisors identify risky postures, proper knife positioning, and unsafe acts as a complement to our safety program. Daily floor tours where they will look for nonverbal signs with all team members while touring to help supervisors in their efforts to detect repetitive motion illnesses early before they become cases resulting in objective findings which often lead to doctor cases and even surgery cases. Daily floor tours will include educational training exercises for new and veteran supervisors on the ergonomics program which will help them better identify those items that lead to illness cases in our facility.

This person is responsible of Monitoring Ergonomic issues in the entire plant while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. must have leadership skills and be self-motivated with a caring attitude; will also be responsible for teaching and training of Ergonomic Monitors. Must be able to work with THS system and complete ergonomic work studies. Must be able to prepare agendas and be prepared for all meetings.
