Global Infrastructure Advanced IT Specialist

Purpose
  • Support Corporate Sponsored Initiatives & Site Information Technology (IT) activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Solutions Management
  • Design, implement, deploy and maintain all IT infrastructure systems to ensure reliability and zero loss efforts
    • Understand the site's technology portfolio
    • Partner with site lead and local CIS to provide a reliable infrastructure to support plant floor systems
  • Evaluate and implement IT solutions following General Mills policies, standards, and guidelines including required audits
    • Identify and advance standard solutions, and share broadly across SCFS
    • Participate in site project teams and broader initiatives to ensure appropriate use of technology and adhering to enterprise standards
    • Ensure physical security of critical IT infrastructure equipment and data
    • Provide support as needed to advance priority initiatives

Tactical Management
  • Manage IT site project proposals and implementation
  • Partner with Plant Technical (CIS), Engineering Teams and Plant Operations
  • Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure systems to ensure reliability of service
  • Align objectives to support overall priorities and Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures (OGSM)
  • Actively participate on project teams and broader initiatives
  • Support the Technical Solutions Framework to ensure guidelines, standards and policies are met.
  • Champion use of Service Desk for Tier 1 trouble resolution.
  • Provide off shift, weekend, and holiday support as needed.

Leadership
  • Partner with IT Site Lead and Regional IT Manager to plan, manage, and optimize the site's IT budget
  • Establish regular engagement with site leadership team to ensure alignment and visibility
  • Lead efforts to standardize, simplify and sustain solutions.
  • Partner with IT Site Lead and Regional IT Manager to actively lead, develop, communicate, and support Contingency Management Plans.

Qualifications (Education/Experience)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent of 4+ years' experience in the field.
  • Advanced proficiency in current desktop productivity tools
  • Intermediate proficiency in systems and network troubleshooting
  • Analytical skills to identify problems and deliver solutions
  • Team-oriented attitude
  • Strong interpersonal communication, relationship-building skills and effective time management
