Job Description: The Industrial Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing and assembly processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and safety/quality standards; creates, verifies, and updates local manufacturing standards. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods using knowledge of product design, tooling and equipment capabilities, fabrication processes, and assembly methods. Uses concepts of Lean and Continuous Improvement to improve operational efficiencies.

Requirements
  • Participates in or leads Continuous Improvement projects to eliminate process waste.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in support of Design to Value and Design for Manufacturability on projects related to cost optimization, process improvement, and new product development.
  • Works with the Manufacturing Engineering team to deploy best practices and improve quality and OTD.
  • Create and update manufacturing routings and manufacturing and or assembly tooling/fixtures.
  • Preforms time studies in order to verify or establish time standards for manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Leads the effort to develop and implement testing criteria and process, create and implement manufacturing processes, improving manufacturing processes to eliminate nonvalue added activities, creating standard work, and reducing process or inspection time.
  • Supports Manufacturing Technology development to improve operating processes, and is aligned with the global ME team for enterprise wide strategies
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of design standards.
  • Selection and justification of optimal capital equipment, tooling and commissioning of new manufacturing processes, while aligning with global standards
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) methodology; Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) methodology.
  • Aptitude to understand various materials, especially grades of steel and other alloys and the awareness of different International Standards relating to flow control products (i.e. valves).

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • 1+ years experience in manufacturing engineering or an engineering position in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read production and assembly drawings
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Strong computer skills
