Description of Duties (primary & secondary) % of TotalWork EffortProvide support for the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention s Data ModernizationProject 100%20-25 hours per weekThis individual will provide support for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention s (CDC) DataModernization Project for the Tennessee Cancer Registry. This position will be focused on health informatics around the data analytics, security, storage, retrieval and use of healthcare information to foster better collaboration among various healthcare providers. These records are paper based and the initiative is to move all information to the Cloud. The essential requirements of the initiative include: core and expanded activities, and the items listed below (1 5) include core activities of the initiative:1. Work with CDC/NPCR to receive standardized ePath reports through the APHL (Assoc of Public Health Laboratories)/AIMS Platform - Trading partners include federal agencies, the United States Uniformed Services, regional commercial laboratories and hospitals, State Health Information Exchanges and 50 state public health jurisdictions2. Actively participate in a bi-weekly calls to provide a status update on receipt of ePath reports through theAPHL/AIMS Platform3. Actively participate in a quarterly ePath Work Group calls with laboratories to provide updates and discussany reporting issues4. Review incoming ePath reports for record completeness and quality measures5. Use ePath reports for case finding activitiesThe items listed below (1 6) include expanded activities of the initiative:1. Respond to CDC/NPCR requests for the size of registry database and measures of reports received by theyear, including the number of ePath reports, number of electronic provider reports, and number of electronicreports from hospital cancer registries2. Participate in requirements gathering sessions to provide input on Cancer Surveillance Cloud-BasedComputing Platform (CS-CBCP) functionality, discuss CDC/NPCR current plans, and identify any furtherdevelopment opportunities3. Participate in evaluation activities to measure the effectiveness of the CS-CBCP in improving timeliness,completeness, and quality of cancer reporting4. Develop and refine data management reports, dashboard interfaces, and administrative interfaces5. Review, evaluate, and test data management reports, dashboard interfaces, and administrative interfaces6. Actively participate in and contribute to the CS-CBCP Data Governance Council to establish data accessstandards/roles, security standards, honest broker relationships, best practices, business serviceagreements, and other topics related to CS-CBCP data governance.Experience with Reporting Tools: Tableau, Kibana, AIMS Custom Dashboard, ElasticSearch, Logstash, GrafanaKnowledge of HL7Understanding of FISMA Audits, Penetrations Tests, HIPAA, UberMonitoringExperience with DevOps tools: i.e. Puppet, JIRA, etc.Cloud experience: I.e. AWS, Google Cloud, etc.Strong Coordination, communication, writing and organizational skills
