(BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. UPF will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future. The UPF Construction project works on various schedules with differing start times pending project needs.Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; the successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject to and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.Job Summary:In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. #LI-CL1Major Responsibilities:Level 1

Prepares construction drawings and sketches.

Facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.

Initiates requisitions for field purchases

Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.

Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.

Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.

Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.

Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.

Reviews and approves inspection test plans.

Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.

Level 2

Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1: Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience​.

Level 2: Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.​

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes is customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.

Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

Excellent problem-solving ability.

Experience with TEAMWorks, SETROUTE, and Maximo software programs.

Recent Bechtel experience as Mechanical/Piping Field Engineer with I&C experience at a large EPC Project.

Previous experience working on a large EPC project for the Department of Energy (DOE).

Previous experience NQA-1 Piping (small bore) and Specialized Mechanical Equipment (Glove Boxes, equipment skids, multi-discipline pipe racks).

Previous experience using Teamworks or Pipe Fighter Application/Tools (Bechtel).
