is hiring for an

Inventory & AP Specialist to contribute to our TN Book team in LaVergne, TN just outside Nashville. This individual closes and reconciles all modules of company computer system at month end including Sales, Order Entry, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory and Purchasing. Also, this team member prepares and reconciles quarterly sales reports. Serves as the primary contact between Tennessee Book Company and all publishers regarding sales, all accounts payable issues, and all inventory discrepancies or shipping issues from publishers; primary publisher liaison to determine product configurations and Bill of Materials along with due dates on an outstanding product on order; manages annual and seasonal file maintenance projects while providing detailed reports to publishers and assists with coordinating annual physical inventory; provides leadership support for the Product Coordinator position and serves as a backup for related areas.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting or directly related field or equivalent year for year experience
  • 5 Years experience in Corporate Accounting, A/P, or Inventory Control
  • 3-5 Years experience working in A/R, A/P, Inventory, Order Entry, Sales and Purchasing business systems

Preferred Skills:

  • Microsoft Excel experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closes the month for all modules in primary business system which includes A/R, A/P, Inventory, Order Entry, Sales and Purchasing.
  • Performs General Ledger reconciliations for all module reports ensuring accurate information and balanced reports and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Prepares and reconciles multiple Quarterly Reports in tight time frame. This includes researching and resolution of discrepancies and out of balance issues.
  • Reconcile publisher invoices with receiving documentation for all owned publishers and prepares payments based on invoiced terms.
  • Works with all publishers to establish correct Bill of Materials for every product bundle carried by TBC and reviews & approves titles prior to setup in business system.
