We are looking for an exceptional person to join our bar and apothecary team as manager. Asheville Dispensary is a sophisticated cannabis dispensary and coffee/tea/herbal elixir lounge concept, where knowledge and education are of the highest priority. We offer an experience for the customers when they enter our facilities - they are never merely buying a beverage. We are an axis for health, knowledge, and relaxation.

Our bar and apothecary offerings are vast, diverse, unique, and deeply intentional. We work with direct-trade coffee and tea producers to serve artisanal, medicinal coffee and tea experiences. We offer a traditional Chinese tea service - Gong Fu Cha. We also serve healthy, high-quality, natural boba drinks without additives or fillers. We collaborate with The NOHM Collective to spread plant medicine and magic through a variety of herbal elixirs. You will be our go-to on the ins and outs of these specialties. You will focus primarily on the bar and apothecary side of the company but will also be educated and prepared to support customers on the cannabis dispensary side.

We are growing and expanding our bar presence drastically, and aim to become the leading space in Chattanooga for the highest quality coffee, tea, herbs, and beverage experiences. We don’t merely serve drinks - we create a unique experience for each customer based on their needs and desires. This is of the highest priority. We need a true leader and visionary to help shape and lead our vision. We want someone who desires to grow with the company and invest their time, energy, and heart into bringing herbal access to Tennessee.

Duties

Your role will be responsible for managing the ins and outs of the bar, and leading our bar team to be an exceptional presence on the floor. Other bar staff should look to you for leadership, inspiration, and communication. You may assist with helping source high-quality ingredients and products, training and educating other staff members on the expansive list of plants we work within the shop, and will be responsible for maintaining a high level of knowledge within the general store atmosphere, in addition to working behind the elixir bar.

The sharing of knowledge and education is of utmost importance to us here at Asheville Dispensary, and we serve as a community hub and resource for exploring and learning about plant medicine and offerings.

Our goal is to help keep plant medicine at the forefront of Appalachian culture and enhance access to healthy, holistic, vital living for the community.

Requirements

Strong interest and embodiment of natural, holistic living

Self or professional study of natural medicine and/or plant knowledge

Awareness of and experience in Chinese tea/Gong Fu Cha

Awareness of and experience in artisanal/specialty coffee

Managerial experience and/or ability to show leadership and direction at a high level

Experience in customer service

Strong capacity for learning

Ability to speak with confidence to groups

Outgoing, friendly, vital personality

Passion for holistic, healthy living

Bonus Skills

Herbalism certification or similar type of education

Strong understanding of cannabis and its medical/recreational uses

Specialty coffee barista training

Specialty tea training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
