DescriptionLeidos is seeking a Lead Buyer located in our Oak Ridge, Tennessee facility. The Lead Buyer is responsible for the procurement of strategic components and materials, maintenance and support, data, goods and services, company-wide.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe development and negotiation of favorable prices on higher complexity procurements, including terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with client requirements and procurement policies/procedures under supervisor guidance. Conducts audits as needed to support the leadership team during surges.Purchase order administration/file maintenance, closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier customer management.Creating solicitations, supporting proposals, conducting price and cost analysis, negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provisions. Procurement of higher complexity and risk, involving complex supplier negotiations.Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.Reviews proposals, and selects or recommends suppliers based on gathered information.Recommend improvements to procurement processes and procedures.Completes larger procurements independently.Supports peer reviews and mentoring of other IT Hardware Buyers.Basic QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor degree coupled with 8-12 years of business experience; OR a Master degree with 2-6 years of experience; OR a HS Diploma coupled with 8+ years of business experience. Prior experience buying tangible goods is required.Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.Good oral and written communication skills.Strong Customer Service mentality.Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations.Preferred QualificationsCostPoint experience preferred.Terms and Conditions negotiation experience preferred.Pay Range:Pay Range $75,400.00 - $136,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
