What You'll Need:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • 1 year as a technician in a production or manufacturing environment or equivalent year for year directly related education

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate equipment failures and provides basic emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
  • Ensure repairs and equipment downtime does not negatively impact production schedules.
  • Perform basic technical skills, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production/facility machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
  • Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Perform basic equipment recalibrations to ensure the highest quality book manufacturing goals are met.
  • Use and understand a computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Program job setup file in multiple pieces of production equipment.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General understanding of facility electrical wiring and power distribution.
  • General understanding of mechanical functions / applications.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and prints.
  • Electrical troubleshooting ability, with understanding of AC/DC control wiring and relay logic.
  • Basic understanding of PLC.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Knowledge of servo, hydraulic and pneumatically actuated equipment.
  • Knowledge ofINFOR-EAMor comparative Maintenance Management System.

Additional Information

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk and stand continuously during 8-12 hour shift
  • Ability to lift/carry in full range of motion up to 100lbs during the assigned shift in a warehouse environment – 50lbs or less frequently, and up to 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. during the assigned shift in a warehouse environment; up to 30 lbs. continuously, 31-50lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift
  • Ability to bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn, climb, crawl, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift
  • Ability to work designated shift including overtime as required, which could include time before or after the designated shift and/or weekends
  • Exposure to wide range of temperatures
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
  • Distribution environment
  • Depth perception
  • Ability to see in color
  • Ability to see objects in close proximity as well as at a distance
  • Peripheral vision
  • Ability to adjust sight focus
  • Willingness and ability to be equipment certified and able to meet physical requirements of equipment operator
  • Willingness and ability to work to heights up to 30 feet
