Maintenance Technician III and offering a$2,000 sign-on bonusto contribute to our distribution team in

Lavergne, TN. The Maintenance Tech III acts as a “hands-on” team lead, who will be responsible for coordinating a crew of Maintenance associates. Trains and provides work guidance while performing highly complex diagnostics and repairs, relating to distribution center facilities and equipment. Ensures the equipment in the distribution facility is maintained properly, by performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility equipment to OEM standards.

What You'll Need:

  • Technical Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • 5+ years in a facility maintenance position, with 2+ years in electrical repair.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • 2 years of conveyor maintenance and repair experience.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluates training needs for Maintenance associates.
  • Prioritizes and schedules equipment repairs and Preventative Maintenance, in collaboration with the management team.
  • Assists in determining needs for equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Evaluates equipment failures and provides complex emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
  • Ensures repairs and equipment downtime does not negatively impact the ability to meet service level agreements.
  • Performs complex technical skills, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.
  • Detects faulty operations, and defective material and makes necessary repairs; reporting any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Operates motorized equipment as necessary for driving and repairs to include forklift, order selector, pallet jack, floor sweet, etc.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Partners with leadership to drive successful implementation of team objectives.
  • Effectively communicates technical/automation needs and concerns to internal and external customers, including Engineering.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and vendors to ensure target achievements in technical/maintenance support.

  • Provides input to performance reviews: by monitoring the work of assigned maintenance associates
  • Assists in the coordination and training of personnel, as assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good ability to schedule, lay out, and assign work.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and a positive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and provide work direction to assigned personnel in the performance of a wide variety of duties related to Industrial Equipment Maintenance.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude.
  • Advanced electrical aptitude.
  • Good understanding of facility electrical wiring and power distribution.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and prints.
  • Electrical troubleshooting ability, with understanding of AC/DC control wiring and relay logic.
  • Advanced understanding of PLC.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
  • Advanced understanding of servo, hydraulic and pneumatically actuated equipment.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical problems.
  • Ability to adapt to new advancements in technology.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to create Preventative Maintenance and training documentation.
  • Ability to successfully complete motorized equipment certification process.
  • Ability to work safely and adhere to safety guidelines in a warehouse environment including Lockout/Tagout and Hazardous Materials procedures.
  • Ability to develop relationships with vendors.
  • Ability to be flexible/multi-task based on workflow demands.
  • Ability to speak, write and read the English language.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.

Essential Physical Demands

  • Distribution center environment
  • Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts
  • Ability to stand and/or walk continuously during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100lbs during the assigned shift – 30lbs or less continuously, 50lbs frequently, and 100lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to grip/grasp continuously during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to bend, squat/kneel, twist/turn, climb, crawl, reach above shoulder, and type/keyboard frequently during the assigned shift.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work designated shifts including overtime as required, which could include time before or after the designated shift and/or weekends.
  • Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
