Our Team Technology Services Group (TSG) l everages BNY Mellon's modern technology infrastructure to enable powerful business solutions while vigorously prioritizing our stability and resiliency The Enterprise Capacity Management, Data Centers and Operations team supports the critical technology infrastructure for the company-s core business applications providing global datacenter strategy, engineering and support services; enabling mission-critical system processing and operations; and delivering enterprise capacity governance and system growth to support existing and new business activity.

The Role We are seeking a Performance Management Engineering Technical Lead. You-ll provide real-time troubleshooting as well as reviewing post incident documentation. You will closely collaborate with Application, Operations, and Engineering teams to be able to paint as full of a picture as possible of each situation. You should have a broad exposure to various technologies along with a solid understanding of Infrastructure Technologies such as Operating Systems, Networking, Storage, as well as basic principles of application coding. Our team has overall responsibility for measuring application and infrastructure performance over time using well defined Key Workload Metrics. We seek to learn from past issues and apply what we learned to prevent future problems from occurring. Key Responsibilities:
  • Consistent review of Production issues, on an ongoing basis to discover recurring themes
  • Understand how Existing Data and Metrics can be used to assist the enterprise in improving performance. Identify areas where data is missing that may prove to be useful.
  • Identification of environments that are At Risk
  • Build and Suggest reports that can be useful in the Performance Management Space.
  • Follow up with Application users on shared initiatives in this space.
  • Maintenance and support of an Infrastructure Integration Environment where releases can be verified prior to production release

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred 10 - 12 years of infrastructure architecture experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Operating System Performance Tuning.
  • Understanding of all areas of Infrastructure performance Tuning (Note: This is not an operational Role. Candidate will not be expected to carry out said tuning, but needs to understand what is being proposed and on occasion make suggestions)
  • Advanced Data manipulation skills. Ability to Join data from multiple systems and Join where appropriate. Advanced Excel Skills Expected.
Preferred:
  • Splunk; AppDymanics; Any Parsing Language (such as Python)

Designs the organization's technology architecture and implements hardware and software infrastructure. Participates in developing and monitoring the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Monitors the organization's technology architecture to analyze potential needs or recommend improvements. Reaches out to LOB leaders to understand the organization's technology architecture performance and future technology needs. Attends technology conferences and works with vendors to understand the feasibility of future plans. Researches infrastructure architecture needs for M&A activity and supports the creation of executive summaries. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred 10 - 12 years of infrastructure architecture experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
