Oversee product launches, reactive communications, and proactive public relations campaigns centered on Facebook’s developer platform
Build deep relationships with the media, and engage with press, bloggers, analysts, influencers, and the general public as Facebook spokesperson
Prepare and train spokespeople, and staff press briefings and communications at events
Leverage experience distilling technology or policy concepts into plain language
Engage on crisis communications topics and drive the team towards strategy
Oversee the development of a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, communications plans, reactive statements, briefing materials, and more
Enable Facebook to mitigate legal and policy risks by developing content policies
Counsel cross-functional partners in engineering, product, policy, legal, and other groups within the company on communications considerations for product updates
Manage in-bound press inquiries on a range of developer-focused issues
Manage shifting deliverables in a fast-paced environment
Telecommute from anywhere in the U.S. permitted (remote work benefit)
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science or related field, and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a public relations-related occupation. OR Employer will accept 7 years of work experience in job offered or in a public relations-related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Experience must include 24 months of experience in each of the following:
Managing communications strategy, media analysis, and issue management for proactive PR campaigns and product initiatives
Handling crisis communications situations
Creating and executing communications programs
Landing communication narratives and programs beyond traditional media
Launching consumer products
Developing communication programs and campaigns driving business objectives across regions and cultures
Developing content policies in line with company policies and mitigating legal risks
Tailoring communications to multiple audiences that includes regulators, consumer press, business press, trade press, and technology press
Engaging communication strategies with the press and media
