Key responsibilities • Creates capital proposal including scope document, cost estimate, and timelines for management review and approval. • Manages projects to meet all technical requirements while assuring they stay on-time and within budget. These responsibilities includes the development of a detailed scope of work, creation of equipment specifications, finalizing purchasing documents, creating and maintaining detailed timelines, expediting and receiving material and equipment, and commissioning activities. • Develops project specifications and systems by making calculations, preparing process flow diagrams (PFD's), piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID's), site and floor plans, elevation drawings, utilities matrices, and other project documentation as applicable. • Leads the selection of contractors/vendors and supervises same in actual design and specifications of installations. • Keeps abreast of new technology and equipment and subsequently develops projects to drive process improvement. Key technologies include wet blending, fermentation, hydrolysis, pasteurization, sterilization, centrifugation, filtration, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, evaporation, lypholization, spray drying, sifting, blending, milling, packaging, and clean-in-place (CIP) systems. • Conducts start-up field testing and troubleshoots new, modified, and current systems and equipment related to a project. Creates installation and operational qualification documents (IQ/OQ) and implements IQ's/OQ's upon management approval. Assists with the completion of cleaning qualification (CQ). Trains personnel responsible for operation of equipment. • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to detail operations of new equipment or revises SOP's to reflect changes to operations as a result of modifications to existing equipment. • Develops capacity models for existing processing lines and identifies bottlenecks that restrict capacity. Using this model, suggests projects that can lead improve capacity on the line. Qualifications and skills • BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Agricultural, Manufacturing Engineering or related field. • 3-5 years of project management experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry. • Well versed in the development of project schedules, cost estimates, PFD's, P&ID's, site and elevation drawings, and utilities requirements. • Strong problem solving and organizational skills. • Able to translate a concept into a workable manufacturing process. • Good written and verbal communication skills.Kerry is an equal opportunity employer.
